Upon arriving, departure by jeep 4X4 to the White Desert. First you will stop at the village of El Heiz for having lunch. After lunch, proceed to the Old White Desert where your camels will be waiting for you to start a wonderful, tranquil journey through a fantasy land that has remained unchanged for millions of years. On camels , your guide will take you wandering through the fields of the amazing white chalk natural formations that are still a petrified forest of strange plants and animals, while the rock-chalk ground appears as mounds of snow and ice. You will see a series of ‘mushroom’ shaped inselbergs, which are one of the signatures of the White Desert Preserve. We will ride across cliffs and rolling slopes of brilliant white chalk and occasionally pass by a lone palm tree. Just before sunset you will enter the greater part of the White Desert where the inselbergs are more abundant, much taller (12 to 18 meters) and more massive than those you have previously seen.

We continue our journey through this unusual inselberg “forest” until we reach your fully prepared campsite, where you will enjoy a stunning sunset. During this time you will observe the reflection of the sun’s rays upon both the crystal blue sky and the stark chalk landscape as the setting sun transforms both earth and sky first from white and blue to finally a deep sapphire/indigo, which will serve as the backdrop for  thousands of twinkling stars that start to shine in the beautiful sky.

In the early evening, you will enjoy a barbecue delicious Bedouin-style dinner in your comfortable, cheery camp. You may then take a short walk around or simply relax around the campfire enjoying the scenic bright sky and the silence of this isolated area that has been unchanged for millions of years.
